The S.O.A.R. Institute's process is designed around four imperatives. Ontology and Axiology, the two methodologies underpinning our work seamlessly combine Science and Philosophy as the platform to launch into our third component, the process of Immersion. By being fully Immersed in any process, learning multiplies exponentially creating rapid and effective shift. The fourth aspect encapsulating everything is the context of Full Responsibility. Every process we are called on to intervene in always begins with the individual, team or collective acknowledging and accepting full responsibility for the situation. Until the context of full responsibility is accepted, any resolution will at best be only partial, with no sustained shift evident. We can either accept that we are the Cause or we are doomed to forever remain in effect.

The power of the SOAR Institute process lies in harnessing these four disciplines to provide the individual, the team and organisation with a methodology that differs substantially in its approach, efficacy, sustainability and outcomes.

Axiology

Axiology, the science of human values, enables us to identify the internal valuing systems that influence our perceptions, decisions and actions - to clearly understand "why" we do what we do!

Dr. Robert S. Hartman was nominated for the Nobel Prize for his contributions in value measurement using Axiology. Hartman's value mathematics makes it possible to measure human values as accurately as a thermometer measures temperature. Click on the link to learn more about Axiology

Ontology

Ontology is the study of being, and is an inquiry into the nature of human existence. It is the exploration of how human beings make sense of themselves and their world. An enquiry into the Ontology of being human raises certain key questions:

What is it to be human?

What is the meaning of life?

What is life’s purpose or what is an individual's life purpose?

Immersion

The three primary modalities through which we learn are the mind (thinking), our emotions (feeling) and the body (physical experiencing)

The sources of learning or information comes from three places: The self, others and nature or the Universe

Learning through immersion is designed to appeal to all three of these natural learning modes. Our most powerful life experiences typically take place in a total immersion context, engaging all three of the modalities of learning and gathering information from all three sources. The natural learning system functions best when the learner is completely immersed in the learning event. Learning through immersion is fundamental to the processors, workshops and coaching at the SOAR Institute.
